# Setting Up an Engagement

> Create an Iris engagement around a clear business question and process boundary.

Before creating the engagement, define:

* client/workspace and project name;
* business objective;
* process start and end;
* relevant teams and stakeholder groups;
* important exclusions;
* intended deliverable.

Use a recognisable name such as **Client — Process — Quarter/Year**.

Project context should state what the client wants to understand, why it matters now and the main systems or constraints. Do not preload conclusions you want the evidence to prove.

Confirm the stakeholder plan and participant communication before sending invitations.
