Standardise the operating spine
Create repeatable processes for:- qualification;
- proposal and SOW;
- kickoff;
- stakeholder selection;
- evidence collection;
- synthesis;
- opportunity scoring;
- business-case assumptions;
- executive readout;
- implementation transition;
- case study and referral request.
Keep judgment flexible
Do not standardise:- the client’s business question;
- which evidence matters;
- root-cause analysis;
- the intervention selected;
- executive narrative;
- implementation recommendation.
Create quality gates
Before a deliverable reaches the client, verify:- important findings have evidence;
- assumptions are labelled;
- recommendations address causes, not symptoms;
- financial claims are traceable;
- scope and limitations are clear;
- the requested decision is explicit.
