We are interested in the workflow, not individual performance. Please avoid unrelated sensitive information and stop the observation if something appears that should not be captured.Observe only the workflow segment needed for the diagnostic. In privacy-sensitive or high-friction contexts, interviews may be the better evidence source.
Screen Observation
Capturing Screen Observation
Use consent-based observation when on-screen task detail materially improves the diagnostic.
Use screen observation for work that is hard to reconstruct from memory: system switching, repeated entry, manual checks, document handling, workarounds or exception recovery.
Before capture, confirm the activity is in scope, the participant understands what is observed, consent is explicit and sensitive-information risks have been considered.
